4 THINGS TO KNOW
Cronos/Tectonic turns chain operability into a yield risk
The Block reported an estimated $75 million exploit on August 30; StableSafe tracks $124,567,121 across 14 Cronos pools, including Tectonic USDC at 0.12186% APY and $53,732,339 TVL and Tectonic USDT at 0.14843% APY and $45,057,668 TVL.
Medium-risk yield loses its premium
Screened bands: Low Risk (0-29) = 3.80225827% on $28,365,712,821; Medium Risk (30-59) = 3.56538857% on $30,906,581,345; High Risk (60-100) = 6.23804953% on $1,355,013,636.
RWA reference coverage widens in one update
Current tracked totals are BUIDL: 9 pools and $3,620,971,156 TVL; USYC: 2 pools and $2,621,981,346 TVL; USDY: 15 pools and $2,206,056,427 TVL.

Morpho V1 SENPYUSDMAIN: current APY 6.56587%, previous APY 5.38492%, change 21.93068792%, TVL $386,901,271, risk score 23.

CHAIN BREAKDOWN

This table uses named chains and the 0% < APY <= 50% screen. The raw Berachain total of $101,092,582,846 is dominated by a $101,064,670,599 zero-APY Bex row, so it is excluded from the screened leadership view; unnamed chain IDs are also omitted.

Cronos halts after estimated $75 million Tectonic exploit
Cronos halted its network after an exploit at lending protocol Tectonic. An on-chain researcher estimated that about $75 million in assets were affected, while Tectonic had not yet confirmed the amount or root cause in the report.
The incident shows how thin-liquidity collateral and chain-level intervention can turn a high-yield lending venue into a withdrawal and operational-risk event.
CoinDesk
Singapore proposes full reserves and a ban on stablecoin yield
Singapore's financial regulator opened a consultation proposing 100% reserve backing and a prohibition on yield paid by stablecoin issuers. The proposal is intended to align Singapore's framework with other major jurisdictions.
A split between issuer-paid yield and protocol or asset-level yield matters for how allocators classify RWA wrappers and stablecoin savings products.
CoinDesk Research
Tokenized RWA value reaches a record $34.7 billion in August
CoinDesk Research reported that tokenized real-world assets reached a record $34.7 billion at the end of August, while the stablecoin market rose 1.19% to $311 billion. The report also said USDe recovered 4.54% to $4.04 billion and highlighted continued expansion in tokenized treasury and equity products.
The institutional RWA expansion provides context for StableSafe's new BUIDL, USYC, USDY, USTB, and USAT reference rows, although the tracker should distinguish coverage growth from new DeFi deployments.
OUTLOOK
Stablecoin yields are bifurcating rather than broadly expanding. The screened market is 3.73594653% across $60,627,307,802, but the low-risk band at 3.80225827% currently pays 23.68697 basis points more than medium risk at 3.56538857%; the recent risk premium has inverted. Pendle remains the clearest high-yield pocket, with screened structured markets at 12.22440854% average and individual APYs up to 44.11766%, but maturity and underlying-token risk are doing the work. Meanwhile, BUIDL, USYC, and USDY are expanding the tracked base around 3.2-3.6%, while Cronos/Tectonic underscores that collateral quality and chain operability matter more than headline APY. Over the next 1-2 weeks, expect low-risk rates to remain the reference floor, high-risk APYs to stay volatile, and new RWA coverage to improve breadth before it changes market-wide yield.
